In January 2022, Showa has been awarded and approved as official supplier of Euro NCAP MPDB (Honeycomb barrier for offset frontal impact test).

In June 2020, dynamic testing of MPDB has been implemented by UTAC (French laboratory).  Subsequently in October 2021, evaluation test against actual vehicle has been implemented by BASt (German laboratory).

 

Showa’s MPDB has passed both of tests to satisfy the severe performance requirements and has obtained Euro NCAP qualification.

(In 2013, Showa has already obtained qualification of Euro NCAP AE-MDB.)
